Congressman Baumgartner Responds to President Trump’s Joint Address to Congress

WASHINGTON- Congressman Michael Baumgartner (WA-05) issued the following statement on President Trump’s Joint Address to Congress. 

“Tonight’s address celebrated the bold actions taken by President Trump to restore the rule of law and reinvigorate the American Dream,” said Congressman Baumgartner. “I am optimistic that this administration is headed in the right direction and will create a safer, more prosperous America by strengthening border security, slashing wasteful government spending, and restoring American jobs to empower hard working American citizens.” 

Baumgartner added, The impact speaks for itself: small business optimism is surging; families are finally seeing relief from skyrocketing costs; and critical investments in American energy and infrastructure are creating opportunities for workers across the country. Common-sense solutions are being applied across the board—from promoting fair regulations that support businesses to strengthening border security and ensuring responsible fiscal policies while addressing our national debt.”

Baumgartner continued, “Through executive action, President Trump is securing the border, cutting the red tape, and unleashing American energy. But one president's pen can be undone by another. Now is the time for Congress to unite, secure these reforms and provide lasting security and economic stability for the American people and future generations.”
